Nope, not all lubricants are created equal. Choosing the right type of lubricant is part of a healthy lifestyle choice.

Commercial lubricants frequently contain artificial ingredients that may cause irritation or allergies.
Oil based lubricant can not only damage materials like latex condoms (increasing the risk of pregnancy) but can may also increase the risk of developing an infection (bacterial vaginosis and STI's ) and have a pH that is not favourable. Because they are not water-soluble they leave a residue, that does not simply rinse off with water (and may leave difficult to remove stains on your sheets and clothing).
Even water-based commercial lubricants that do not contain oil, may be of concern, particularly when issues around pH and osmolality (Osmolality refers to a substance’s ability to draw moisture out of tissues and cells), have not been addressed. The WHO has specific guidelines about these attributes (WHO recommends using a lubricant with a pH of 4.5 and an osmolality below 1200 mOsm/kg.) however many manufacturers do not abide by these.
If you are invested in a healthy lifestyle and conscious of what you consume in your diet, you may have already eliminated potential toxins and irritants from your menu, so it makes sense to be equally aware of the products that are processed by your body through skin absorption.
In the case of personal lubricant, you are applying the product in sensitive areas with a high vascular flow (they are readily absorbed into your blood stream), so making a conscious choice to use a water-based natural personal lubricant like SuperNaturals water-based personal lubricant with Aloe vera (Aloe Barbendis leaf extract) and organic Honeybush (Cyclopia longifolia) is the natural answer to honouring your body's chemical balance.
Aloe vera (Aloe Barbndis leaf extract) and organic Honeybush tea are just two of the natural ingredients we have brought into our formulation because of their unique properties and benefits.
Aloe vera (Aloe Barbendis leaf extract) is a succulent plant that has been used for thousands of years for its medicinal and cosmetic properties. It contains a high concentration of water, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, which makes it an excellent moisturizer and soothing agent. It's known for its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, which can help prevent infections and reduce inflammation in sensitive areas.
Aloe vera provides long-lasting hydration and a silky texture that mimics your body's natural lubrication while soothing and helping to heal any minor cuts or abrasions, making it an ideal choice for people with sensitive skin. It also washes off easily without leaving a residue on your skin.
Honeybush (Cyclopia longifolia) is a South African herbal tea that has been used for centuries for its health benefits. It is naturally caffeine-free and contains a variety of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds, which can help to reduce stress, boost the immune system, and improve digestion.
